Simple Fried Pork Cutlet with Sesame Recipe

I happened to find this recipe in my girl friend’s collection of recipe books. It looks simple and tempting enough to make me want to try it. However when I have tried this recipe, it doesn’t really tasted that nice. I think the problem might be the shortage of salt. (The original recipe doesn’t make use of any salt) Mmm …

Ingredients
Cooking time: 6 minutes
Serving Size: 4

  • 5 pieces of lean pork (beaten on both sides)
  • 5 tablespoons of corn flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pack of sesame
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt (depend on individual preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper (depend on individual preference)

Preparation

1. Prepare the marinade by soy sauce, pepper and salt together with the pork chops. Put it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

2. Mix the egg and cornfloor in a mixing bowl. Mix it well.

3. Dip the pork chop in the mixture.

4. Roll the pork chop onto the sesame (Both side) . Press slightly.

5. Fry the porks in heated oil (medium heat) until it turns brown. (make sure oil is hot)

6. Fry each side about 3 minutes.

7. Take out the porks and put them on a paper towel to drain the oil.

8. Slice porks into smaller pieces.

Lotus Root with Pork Ribs Soup Recipe

Lotus Roots Soup. Mmm.. This soup has never failed to make my tastebud tinkle with excitement. :D Lotus root is full of nutrient that benefit our health. It contains iron, vitamins B & C. The rich fibre content of lotus roots stimulates peristalsis and relieves constipation.

Ingredients
Serving size: 3

  • 1 lotus root (about 500g)
  • 500g of lean pork rib (short length)
  • 10 - 15 dried red dates click here
  • 2 dried scallops optional (click to view)
  • 6 cups of water
  • salt to taste (1/2 teaspoon)

Directions

  • Soak red dates in a bowl of warm water for at least 5 minutes.
  • Next scrub lotus roots clean, discard the ends, peel and cut lotus root into “1/2 inches? slices.
  • Tips: Put the pork rib in a pot of boiling water for at least 5 to 8 minutes to remove the scum
  • Pour the 6 cups of water into a pot or slow cooker (Crockpot) and transfer the red dates, pork ribs, lotus roots and dried scallops into the pot.
  • Set to low heat when the water start boiling and simmer for at least 1 1/2 hours to 3 hours.
  • For slow cooker, set on high heat for 4 hours, or low heat for 6-8 hours.
  • Add salt to taste

Stuffed Mushroom With Minced Meat

 

Another swell recipe for the BBQ lovers out there. If you are looking for a new vegetable recipe to add into your bbq list. Try this recipe :) It tastes delicious and healthy too.

Ingredients
Serving Size: 5 -8

  1. 15 fresh Shitake mushroom, removed stem
  2. 500g of minced pork (optional: chicken)
  3. 100g of minced fish
  4. 4 water chestnut, minced
  5. 3 clove of garlic, minced
  6. 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce (you can add additional soy sauce to satisfy your taste)
  7. 2 teaspoons of dark soy sauce
  8. 1 teaspoon of white pepper
  9. 1 bunch of fresh golden mushroom, removed the root and cut into half (optional)

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl combine the minced meat (pork and fish), water chestnut, garlic and mix well. Add in the light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and white pepper and mix well again.
  • Put the mushroom on a plate. Divide and mound the mixture on top of the mushroom. Optional: place some of the golden mushroom on top of the mixture
    Note: Mound the mixture into a small hill

Outdoor BBQ Method

  1. Let then heat to stable first before setting the Stuffed Mushroom on the grill.
  2. Place the mushroom with the mixture placing the top and cook for about 7 - 10 minutes
  3. Turn the mushroom and cook for another 5 minutes before serving

Oven Grilling Method

  1. Set the oven mode to toast and preheat the oven to 200C before setting the Stuffed Mushroom on the grills.
  2. Cook for about 15 minutes before serving

Here’s another great recipe for the health conscious people like you.

This is a simple recipe which doesn’t require much preparation and hard work. Nowadays, I feel that time is sometime which I am lack of. The amount of time I spend in projects or school’s work has increased dramatically where as the time for me to explore new recipe is scarce. Therefore, it is important to cook something that is quick and easy to prepare. This recipe definitely satisfy the criteria for “quick and easy”. You can enjoy a healthy meal in just 15 minutes without any hassle.

Ingredients
Serving size :1

  1. Spaghetti, cooked
  2. 1 handful (about 4 tablespoon) of mix vegetables (peas, corn, carrot)
  3. 3 pieces of shitake mushroom, slice
  4. 3 cherry tomato, slice
  5. 3 cloves of garlic, mince
  6. 1 chilli padi (optional), seedless and slice
  7. 2 teaspoon of olive oil
  8. Salt
  9. Black pepper

Directions

  • Preheat the skillet over a medium heat. Add the olive oil and sauté the garlic until it is translucent.
  • Add the mix vegetables, shitake, tomato and chilli into the skillet and sauté for 2 minutes. Add a little bit of salt for seasoning
  • Pour in about 50 ml of water into the skillet and let it cook for another 2 minutes before adding the spaghetti. Mix the spaghetti well with the rest of the ingredient.
  • Before serving, you can add additional salt and pepper.

Simple Roasted Potato Recipe

Ingredients
Serving Size: 2

  • 4 small piece of floury potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 3 clove of crushed garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of butter
  • 2 stalk of fresh thyme leaf, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of dried marjoram leaf
  • salt

Directions

  •  Wash and peeled the potatoes. Parboil in boiling salted water for 5-10 minutes. Drain and toss in the pan.
  • Preheat the oven to 200C.
  • Mix the olive oil, garlic, butter, thyme leaf, dried marjoram leave and a little bit of salt together.
  • Spread some butter on the roasting tin and marinate the potatoes with the mixture.
  • Place roasting tin in the oven and cook for about 30 minutes. Turn them over from time to time whilst they are cooking to make sure they colour on all sides.
